A dairy farm has received 200 donations of old Christmas trees to feed their goats.

After Brits put away their yuletide decorations, Polmarkyn Dairy asked members of the public to give them their festive spruces.

Owners say the goats love to snack on them.

They eat them as part of their balanced diet which includes hay, fodder beetroot, carrots, and sprouts.

The farm, in Liskeard, Cornwall, kindly asked locals to give away their discarded trees to feed their 120 goats.

It is run by Glyn Thomas, 48, and his partner, Katie Wood, 52.

The pair have been asking for tree donations for the last eight years and say the goats love grazing on the trees.

However, this year they have received a record of 200 contributions.

The trees are stripped of needles and bark.

They are then left in the field for the goats to munch on as a tasty treat.

Katie said: “We check the trees have not been sprayed with artificial snow.

”Then just put a few in each field every day.

”We have around 100 girls and a few boys.

”But there will be a lot more soon as we start kidding next month.”
