A giant 115-million-year-old fossil has been found on a beach by a young dinosaur enthusiast.
Jack Wonfor was scouring the shoreline when he stumbled upon the pre-historic tropaeum.
The 22-year-old’s super “rare” find is about one foot in diameter.

Jack discovered it on the beach in Ventnor, Isle of Wight before washing it in the sea.

He works for Wight Coast Fossils on the island.
Jack studied vertebrate palaeontology at the University of Portsmouth where he is now a researcher.
A Wight Coast Fossils spokesperson said: “Check out this superb Tropaeum found by team member Jack.
“Although abundant in the Cretaceous seas of the island’s Lower Greensand rocks, these ammonites are quite the rarity.

“Unless you know exactly where to look.”
The spokesperson told What’s The Jam: “It’s about 115-million-years-old.”

Ammonites were cephalopods that died out about 66-million-years-ago.

Proud Jack – who has also worked as a retained firefighter – made the find last Thursday (2 May.)
Local Jodie Mannion said: “Wow Jack, that’s amazing.”
