Brits have shared what their ideal partner looks like – and it appears Gen Z love “short kings”.
A study of 1,000 Brits has revealed that Gen Z is ditching traditional height standards and officially entering its “short king and tall queen” era.
Using AI to visualise the ideal partner for each generation, the results for Gen Z show a massive shift in what people find attractive.

The search has found that Gen Z men and women identified the ideal male height as 5’7″ to 5’9″ – shorter than the UK male average, as reported by What’s The Jam.
For the ideal woman, Gen Z’s preference jumped to 5’7″ to 5’9″, which is significantly taller than the average UK woman at 5’4″.
Gen Z also moved away from the hourglass obsession, favouring heart-shaped faces and lean, mesomorph athletic builds – like that of Hollywood stars Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney.
Participants were grouped into four generations: boomers, Gen X, millennials, and Gen Z.
The difference in preference, from height to hair type, may shock you.

The ideal male millennial
Among millennials, aged between 29 and 44, heterosexual women and gay men identified men aged 31 to 35 as the most attractive, reflecting a preference for partners close to their own age.
Almond-shaped brown eyes were most popular, voted by 23% respondents in this category, while button noses (26.4%) and full lips, (21.3%) were also highly favoured.

Hair preferences put dark brown hair as most popular (28.9%) with wavy textures favoured by 37.4%.
But short fades were the most commonly selected hairstyle at 29.9%.
In terms of height preferences, tall men reigned supreme, with 5’10” to 6’0″ being most popular for 32.2%.
Body shape preferences highlighted athletic forms as the most admired, with “athletic” builds coming top for 23.6%.
The ideal female millennial
Millennial heterosexual men and lesbian women indicated that the most attractive women were aged 31 to 35, continuing the pattern of age-aligned preferences seen amongst their generational counterparts.
Rounded brown eyes were the most popular at 14.2%, and button noses were the clear favourite, selected by over a third of participants, (35.8%) in this category.
Full lips were also preferred by 29% of respondents in this category, a possible reflection on the uptake in the popularity of procedures like lip enhancements and filler.
Dark brown hair was selected by 22.7%, with wavy textures voted the most popular (38.6%).
The ideal millennial woman is between 5’4″ and 5’6″ as picked by 31.3% and body shape preferences highlighted the enduring appeal of the hourglass figure, as it was chosen by 33.5% of participants.
The ideal Gen Z man
Among Generation Z, heterosexual women and gay men indicated that the most attractive men were aged 25 to 30, continuing the pattern of favouring partners close to their own age.
Almond-shaped brown eyes were the most preferred at 22.6%, while button noses were selected by 34.4% and full lips by 34.4%.
Although 17.2% said they had no preference of nose shape, the second most popular feature was a Roman nose, selected by 12.9% in this category.
Dark brown hair was preferred by 25.8%, with wavy textures selected by 39.8%.
But height preferences for Gen Z men were slightly lower than for millennials, with 28% of this group finding 5’7″ to 5’9″ most attractive.
Body shape preferences continued to highlight a strong preference for the “athletic” build.
The ideal Gen Z woman
An equal number of heterosexual men and lesbian women from Gen Z indicated that the most attractive women were aged 18 to 24 and 25 to 30 (47.1%).
Almond-shaped brown eyes were the most popular, chosen by one in five, and button noses were selected by 30% of participants in this group. Full lips were preferred by 27.1%.
The heart-shaped face was the most preferred at 14.3%, which is characterised by a broad forehead, prominent cheekbones that are wider than the jawline, and a narrow, pointed chin.
Hair colour preference was black (21.4%), with straight hair favoured (31.4%) in terms of type.
Height preferences for women were higher than in previous generations, with 5’7″ to 5’9″ being most attractive to 30% of participants in this group.
In terms of body shape preferences, the hourglass figure appeals to many, chosen by 37.1%, while mesomorph body types, representing naturally athletic and muscular builds, were most preferred at 45.7%.
CREO Clinic ordered the survey, which was carried out by a third-party provider.
A total of 1,000 UK adults aged 18-64 completed the poll on 31 October.
While Millennials still dream tall, Gen Z is proving attraction isn’t measured in inches – it’s officially the era of the short king and tall queen.
