A dumped dog has had a remarkable make-over after he was found hiding in a bush.

The Doberman – called Dobby – was spotted cowering in the undergrowth by a shocked runner.

He had a bleeding tail and scaly skin.

Dobby was taken in by the RSPCA after he was found on 6 March.

He was found in Clay Cross, near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, as reported by What’s The Jam.

But just two-and-a-half months later he looks like a different dog.

Sadly his tail had to be amputated but he was given treatment for his skin condition as part of his make-over.

Steph McCawley, from the RSPCA’s Chesterfield Branch said: “Dobby is such a lovely dog and everyone has fallen in love with him.

“We knew he would be adopted quickly.

“The difference between how he was when he was first rescued to now is astounding, you wouldn’t believe he is the same dog.”

“Dobby’s life was turned around thanks to the Medivet in Alfreton, and our friends at the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital – and we’re so proud to be able to help with his journey.

“It goes to show that it is possible for animals who suffer from cruelty to neglect to have happy endings – and it is so heartwarming.”

Despite an appeal for information in the media, no one came forward with information about who dumped Dobby.

Inspector Pam Bird, who investigated the incident, said: “It was purely by chance that Dobby was spotted by the runner.

“He was cowering in bushes and was clearly terrified.

“We are so thankful that the member of the public helped get him to safety at a vets.”
