A company has launched, what might be, the UK’s “most luxurious” sweet treat – a doughnut made with gold.
And it also contains a special surprise for anyone missing the gold Caramac bar.
The doughnut, which is covered in 24-carat edible gold leaf, costs a whopping £29.95.
On the upside, you get quite a lot for your cash – the dessert measures a foot in diameter and weighs 2.2lbs.

For context, that’s the size of a decent toaster.
The pastry has a Belgian white chocolate base and is covered in gold leaf.

But there’s an even bigger surprise inside.
The doughnut is stuffed with a melted Caramac-like filling.

Unfortunately, it’s not the real deal, but a recreation of Nestle’s gold Caramac bar which was discontinued last November.
This could be the perfect gift for anyone devastated by the chocolate being pulled from the market.
Or for yourself, if Cupid hasn’t helped you this year.

The doughnut was created by Project D, which claims the recreation is so good, it might even rival the original recipe.
The treat has a variety of additional chocolate toppings including KitKat, Lion and Malteser and Terry’s Chocolate Orange White bites, plus gold Belgian chocolate callets and caramel crunch balls.
Oh, and if that wasn’t already extravagant enough, the whole thing is sprayed with edible gold lustre spray.
The doughnut takes six hours to make and can be purchased online.
But it is only available in “very limited numbers”.
If the treat is out of your price range, fret not, as there are cheaper versions available starting from £15.95.
