A council has been branded a ‘cess pit’ after letters fell off a building in a blunder.

They were supposed to spell out ‘access point’.

But the first ‘c’ and the ‘o’ are now missing, as reported by What’s The Jam.

It now reads ‘a cess pint’ outside the library.

Sue Woolley, of South Kesteven District Council, Lincolnshire, stood outside it.

She said: “Oh my goodness.

“Let’s hope the ‘n’ isn’t the next letter to drop off.

“Come on South Kesteven, let’s get some quick repairs done.”

Local, Nicola Clarke said: “That’s so funny.”

Mark Tuohy added: “Proper made me chuckle, Sue.

“Brilliant picture.”

Richard Cleaver, the council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for property and public engagement, took a more serious tone.

He asked: “I presume you’ve already reported this to our property team, Sue Woolley?”

The South Kesteven Community Access Point, in Bourne, near Spalding, Lincolnshire, was opened in 2013.

It brought all town, district and county council services under one roof together with a public library.

The council has been approached for comment.
