Asda has announced a major change to its rewards scheme, with shoppers now able to unlock money off fuel for the first time.
The supermarket is introducing a new Grocery & Fuel Bonus, allowing customers to claim 5p off every litre of fuel after completing a qualifying shop.
Launching today (13 July), the offer is available to Asda Rewards members who spend £40 or more in a single in-store transaction.

Once the qualifying shop has been completed, customers will automatically receive a 5p per litre fuel coupon in the Asda Rewards app, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The discount can then be redeemed on one fuel purchase at participating Asda filling stations by scanning the Rewards barcode and coupon at the pump or kiosk.
The promotion runs until 31 July, with fuel coupons redeemable until 7 August.
Asda said motorists filling a typical 60-litre family car could save up to £3 on a single visit to the pumps.
The offer is initially available at 321 Asda supermarkets and Asda Express stores with Asda-branded fuel, with plans to expand it to more locations and extend the scheme beyond August.

The new bonus is the first time Asda Rewards has offered customers savings on fuel, adding to its existing Missions, which allow shoppers to earn pounds back on selected purchases.
The launch follows recent changes to the app, including more personalised Missions based on the products customers buy most often.

Customers can find participating stores and the full terms and conditions on the Asda website and within the Asda Rewards app.
