An entrepreneurial teenager claims to have made £120,000 ($150,000) by selling a handy invention – snowploughs that attach to shoes.

Michael Satterlee is a self-proclaimed innovator who has been coming up with quirky creations since the age of 10.

But his latest design has proven immensely popular – snowploughs that attach to ‘Crocs’, which he makes using a 3D printer.

The 16-year-old shared a video of the product on Instagram (@solefullydesigns ), which has gone viral with over 65 million views.

“With an idle 3D printer at home and a love for Crocs, I thought why not create something unique for them,” Michael, a student from New York, US, told What’sTheJam.com.

“I just genuinely love the feeling of seeing my product being used.

“I invent for the people.”

Michael taught himself how to utilise 3D printing but has also taken a few engineering classes at school.

He said: “The ‘Snow Plow Crocs’ blend function with fashion.

“They’re not just funny; they can clear any amount of snow in your path.”

Michael sells the product for $6.99, (£5.50) and claims to have sold over $150,000, (£120,000) worth so far.

In the video shared to Instagram, he can be seen walking out of his front door in a pair of ‘Crocs’.

Spotting the snowfall outside, he grabs the yellow attachable items and fixes them on the front of his shoes.

They can be seen moving snow out of his path as he walks around, demonstrating how they work.

The post was captioned: “Put these bad boys in 4 wheel drive,” and has gained over 1,215,000 likes so far, as well as 11,000 comments from viewers.
