A teenager who has made a name for himself with death-defying stunts says his mum hates his extreme hobby – but it doesn’t stop him from doing it.
Charles Gaudreault has been doing parkour and flips with his best friend since he was seven years old, but at 19, he has raised the bar – setting local records for jumps and stunts, with his biggest being a 33-metre high fall.
The teenager has been engaging in cliff jumping for the last three years, upping the ante with increasingly daring stunts.

“I’ve always loved the adrenaline and the feeling that I can’t miss what I do or I die – it puts the full trust in myself,” Charles, from Montreal, Canada, told What’s The Jam.
“At the beginning, my mum was reall,y really mad and wasn’t letting me do this, but I was doing it anyway, so after a couple e years, she had no choice but to let me do it.
“She understood that I would continue anyway.”
Understandably, she’d be protective, given the stunts often involve death-defying tricks.
Charles said, “I am a professional and none of my jumps should be reproduced by someone without experience – they could be injured or die really easily.”

Charles’ most viral video is a 22-metre jump, threading the needle through the support beams of a bridge, before landing in the water below.
The dangerous stunt has been viewed 10.9 million times.
One user said, “Don’t worry, I had an anxiety attack for you.”

But it’s worth it for the rush, according to Charles.
He added: “It’s such an insane feeling.”
