A supermarket has been forced to hire a security guard to protect a teenage cashier after she became an overnight TikTok sensation.
Young worker Léonie shot to fame after appearing in viral dance videos on her store’s social media account.
She first suggested setting up a dedicated TikTok page for her branch last year.

It quickly exploded online, racking up more than 100,000 followers, but was suddenly shut down in December after a flood of fake accounts appeared.
Undeterred, Léonie and her colleagues launched a new page in February, and it has already attracted 122,000 followers, with most videos pulling in millions of views, as reported by Whats The Jam.
Dressed in a blue jacket bearing the supermarket logo, Léonie soon became the star of the show among her dancing checkout colleagues.
The 19-year-old student, who works weekends at a Carrefour store in Laval, France, is seen leading many of the routines.
Local resident Monique is among the fans of the slick clips.

“I think it’s fantastic,” she said.
“It helps people find Laval on the map.”
But Léonie’s sudden fame has also brought unwanted attention.

Groups of youngsters have started turning up at the store hoping to meet the viral dancer.
One classmate said, “It’s all happening a bit too fast for her; fake accounts are being created, people are trying to steal her identity.”
Sales assistant Clara added, “I notice groups of young boys shouting Léonie’s name.
“It’s dangerous for her.”
As a result, bosses decided to step in and employ a dedicated security guard to keep her safe.
Store manager Angélique Durchon said, “It’s a young crowd who came to the hypermarket after school.
“We weren’t prepared for it, so we decided to employ a security guard to protect her.”
The boss added the move was necessary because of the “public’s enthusiasm as well as her own safety”.
