A traveller has lifted the lid on his £60 a night stay in a windowless car park hotel deep underground.

Charlie Pauly decided to test out one of central London’s cheapest overnight stays – which was four floors below ground.

The 34-year-old stopped in a converted car park stacked with hundreds of rooms.

Despite the room having no windows, it was kitted out with a double bed, shower, toilet and free wi-fi.

The content creator posted his experience online, with his clip racking up a whopping 2.8m views and over 54,800 likes.

“It did feel a little daunting knowing you were four floors below ground,” Charlie, from Shoreditch in London, told What’s The Jam.

“It didn’t put me off until I arrived.

“I expected a simple and basic set-up for the price – however, I was pleasantly surprised with the amenities.”

Charlie’s stay was in the Zedwell hotel on Tottenham Court Road, London.

The room cost just £60 a night with enough space for two people.

The hotel also features a lobby area, plus a beauty and ironing room – equipped with mirrors and hairdryers.

The content creator shared his experience with his 233,000 Instagram followers.

Charlie said: “It was ideal.

“Had everything you needed, the staff were pleasant and there the whole process was easy.

“Honestly, I can’t think of a place that I’ve stayed that’s been as central for such a fair price.”

Thousands of viewers were shocked at the price and rushed to comment on the footage.

One person said: “£60 for two with a private bathroom and located in Tottenham Court Road feels like a good deal.

“I pay more than this daily for my flat when you add utilities – but I do have windows.”

Another person said: “That room looks like a great price for London.”

A third person added: “The size of the bed for the room is so funny.”

And a fourth viewer said: “For £60 I can deal with no windows.”

Another viewer added: “They probably would make more keeping it as a car park – this is great value.”
