Fátima Alvizo shocked social media users by bucking tradition at her wedding, refusing to throw her bouquet.
In a TikTok post (@falvizo) viewed over 836,000 times, she explained her decision during an impromptu speech at the reception.
She stated, “I wouldn’t be throwing the bouquet that night,” and elaborated on her reasoning to her guests.
“I pondered deeply on how to make my wedding a celebration of love for all those dear to me,” she explained. “I chose not to throw the bouquet because I believe every woman here is whole. We have loving women who lack nothing.

At my cousin’s wedding, married cousins offered condolences to my sister for being single. True goodness is evident in such actions. Love among women is truly magical.”
Following her speech, she called up women at her Mexico City wedding, gifting them flowers from her bouquet.
They embraced warmly, accompanied by the song ‘Hasta la root’, dedicated to a departed friend, Paulina.
The post, captioned “I didn’t want to throw the bouquet at my wedding,” garnered over 120,000 likes and numerous comments from supporters.
