A camper was left facing many people’s worst nightmare when he discovered an enormous spider crawling around his tent.
In a video, that looks like something straight out of a horror movie, the giant arachnid can be seen on the tent – its huge, spindly legs illuminated by the camper’s torch.
Bruno Roos encountered the unwelcome visitor in the middle of the night after getting up to enjoy the scenic views in Mestre Álvaro, Brazil.

He subsequently shared the terrifying encounter on TikTok, where it went far from unnoticed – garnering 34 million views and 2.5 million likes.
Bruno explained that he was initially unaware of the spider when he got up to admire the view.
“I went to get my portable charger when the light from the flashlight hit the tent canvas and the shadow of the spider appeared,” Bruno told What’s The Jam.
“It measured about 20cm or more.”
Viewers had a lot to say about the video, with one even speculating that it could well be the world’s deadliest spider.
Josh wrote: “Bro I’m pretty sure that’s the Brazilian Wandering Spider, the most deadly spider in the world. I wouldn’t go out if I were you.”
Symptoms of a Brazilian Wandering Spider bite can include severe burning pain at the site, sweating and goosebumps.
However, bites themselves are rare and just 15 deaths have been attributed to the species since 1903 because of the amount of venom required to be deadly.
Other reactions to the video expressed pure horror.
One viewer wrote: “There is absolutely NO reason why spiders need to be this big, like none.”
Another user added: “I would call the police.”
Someone else commented: “That’s not a spider, that’s a DINOSAUR.”
Simon added: “That tent would be my final resting place.”
Laura wrote: “It would take every ounce of self control to not yeet that spider by whacking it with the flashlight from the inside.”
