A man was enjoying a casual ride on his speed boat when he was launched into a challenge with an army aircraft.
River van der Linden spotted a Chinook in the skies right beside him.
The 23-year-old received a signal from the pilot to continue going straight.
What happened next has been compared to something out of the action video game series, Grand Theft Auto.
Videos of the thrilling moment have captured over 220,000 views on social media.
The Chinook makes a swift turn and appears to begin racing River’s speed boat.
Incredible footage shows that it got quite close, was hovering fairly low, and successfully overtook its opponent.
“It was a massive adrenaline kick,” River, from Andel, a village in the Netherlands, told What’s The Jam.
“I noticed the Chinook and had noticed the pilot made a signal to me to keep going straight.
“Not sure if he wanted to race but we ended up doing that.”
The incident took place on 12 August, as the captain cruised along the river in a village named Wijk en Aalburg.
Viewers have taken straight to the comment section.
One person said: “What in the GTA.”
Someone else said: “What a kick that would give.”
