Woman leaves internet horrified eating ‘raw mince’ – but all is not as it seems

A woman has gone viral on TikTok and left the Internet disgusted after eating a plate of raw meat – but all is not as it seems.

In a clip that has already racked up over 70,000 views, fine art student, Tatum Parden munches on what appears to be a slab of mince.

The stomach-churning TikTok has stunned social media users who say it’s “just wrong”.

But the 21-year-old actually has everyone fooled as the meat is not meat at all, but a hyperrealistic cake.

“The raw mince jelly was made using a combination of beef stock, milk, and gelatine,” she told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“First, I made a silicone mould of some actual raw mince.

“Then, I put the gelatine mixture in the fridge to let it half-set.

“I wanted it to be half-set so that I could mix it and then let it fully set, making the mixture lumpy like real mince.

“I did try eating it and I really didn’t enjoy the flavour.

“But I am still fairly happy with how it turned out.”

This isn’t the first time Tatum has created a food-inspired cake, having previously designed raw chicken, mouldy sandwiches, and even a slug.

The fine art student, who first began putting together the unusual pieces as part of a university project, shares her art on TikTok (@cucumberskinlinguine), where she has 150,600 followers.

In the video, Tatum can be seen making the mince, before taking a huge bite with a knife and fork.

The clip, captioned “Delicious,” has gathered thousands of likes, as well as plenty of comments from uncomfortable users.

Mars commented: “I could never.”

Emily added: “Bro don’t u know about cross contamination?’ [sic]

Someone else said: “I’ve never heard of cannibal sandwiches.”

“Or just be normal,” wrote Alex.

“What I eat in a day as a high fat carnivore,” commented another user.

“Now that’s just wrong,” said another follower.

“Why does this feel so illegal,” wrote someone else.

However, the reactions don’t phase Tatum, who plans to continue doing what she does best.

She added: “I like any sort of response, as long as it’s not boredom.

“I’m never offended when someone is disgusted by something I’ve made.

“Next, I am going to plan some kind of feast.”
