A picture of a group of friends posing while on a hike has gone viral for all the wrong reasons – with eagle-eyed viewers spotting something strange lurking in the selfie.
Taking a snap to commemorate the day out, the six friends posed for a smiley shot.
But there appears to be something amiss in the seemingly innocent snap.

Peeking out between the two women at the bottom of the picture is what appears to be another smiling face.
The problem? There doesn’t appear to have been anyone else with them.
The group shared the picture – taken in Chile – with other friends, presumably shocked by the apparent photobomber.
The picture, which features on What’s The Jam, was shared on social media and viewed 29,000 times.
Users took to the comments section to share their thoughts – with many horrified by the creepy face, and others questioning if the image was an edited prank.

One person said: “Holy s**t my stomach dropped.”
“I didn’t see it at first time and when I did zoom randomly I noticed it, almost had a heart attack,” another shocked user said.
Another person likened it to the character of Regan in The Exorcist.

“If that’s not a ghost face, they really did not want that person along on the trip!” another user joked.
Someone else added: “That is f***ing terrifying-even if it’s fake.”
“Gotta love when people post pictures with no explanation, makes my imagination fly,” said another viewer.
