Nessie, who usually resides in the Scottish Highlands, had made it all the way to Texas.

The bizarre sighting took place following hurricane Beryl, a category 5 Atlantic hurricane.

Over the years, zoo animals, reptiles, cars, trees and even boats have appeared miles from where they should be.

But this is the first time the Loch Ness Monster has been spotted here.

An image shows the ‘creature’ sitting in the first lane of the Interstate 45 at Crosstimbers street.

Drivers were left stunned.“Pretty sure that the Loch Ness monster was just spotted in the number one lane of traffic on I45 SB at Cross timbers,” read the caption of a Facebook post by Houston Police Officers Union.

“Makes sense.”

The post has so far gotten over 4,600 likes, as well as 130 comments from baffled users.

In the snap, cars appear to be driving past and billboards appear to have been blown over in the background.

But it is Nessie who captures everyone’s attention.

The creature appeared on Monday last week (8 July).

Sadly, however, the ‘monster’ was actually a chair that had been swept onto the roads… or was it?
