A new Diego Maradona-themed restaurant has proved a winner with customers thanks to it’s football pudding.
The eatery is named Maradona 10: Igual a Nadie – which translates as Equal to No One.
It is owned by the Hutong Tang Group and claims to be the first official Diego Armando Maradona restaurant.
The venue is located in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Belgrano, close to Maradona’s birthplace of Lanús.
Online food critic called Hombre Milanesa – who showcases the best gastronomic options in the Argentine capital – visited the restaurant to give his take on the menu.
The influencer, who boasts 138,000 Instagram followers and 62,000 TikTok fans, said: “Whenever there is anything to do with Diego, I need to try it and get to know it.
“This restaurant opened a little while ago and today I’ll tell you about my experience.”
Hombre Milanesa, whose real name is Nicolas, told Jam Press: “All the food has a twist and is very well thought out.
“All the names of the dishes are related to D10S.”
D10S refers to Maradona and his iconic shirt number, and is a play on the Spanish word ‘Dios’ meaning ‘God’.
While dining at Igual a Nadie, the influencer said he ordered the “Provolone Onions with chutney, roasted onions, kale and lime” for £10.30 (ARS 4,700).
He also tried “the Tota Milanese, a marinated chorizo steak with batter from Parmesan cheese and panko breadcrumbs”, for £15.30 (ARS 7,000).
The food critic sampled roasted meat on the bone that came to £35.00 (ARS 16,000) for two people.
He said: “This roast is crazy, slow cooked with a demi-glace sauce and hazelnuts.
“The meat falls apart just by looking at it!”
He also ordered a flan with dulce de leche for £2.60 (ARS 1,200).
However, the pièce de résistance came in the form of a football-shaped pudding with tres leches, passion fruit, and black cocoa for £3.50 (ARS 1,600).
In total, he said he spent ARS 30,500 (£66.70) and called the restaurant a “beautiful place where you can meet several world champions”.
One local commented: “Excellent place. I highly recommend it.”
Another said: “That roast is one of the best I’ve eaten in a while, incredible.
Karina wrote: “Let’s all go on the number 10!”
Sebastian remarked: “They’re profiting from Maradona, let him rest in peace.”
