The ex-Chelsea and England defender was enjoying a round with pals.
But his tee shot on the 636 yard, par five 18th hole went off course and landed on the roof of a building next to the fairway.
It smashed the slate tile and his friends jeered him.

They all shouted: “Woahhhh.”
One added: “It’s hit the roof.”
Another said: “It’s come back on.
“It’s on the roof.”
It happened at the £315-a-round Hogs Head Golf Club, in Waterville, Co Kerry – west of Cork – Ireland on Sunday (13 Oct).

Married dad-of-two Terry, 43 – said to be worth £47million – apologised to Brady Sherwood, director of the course.
He said: “What a great trip, lots of laughs, some good golf, great wine and far too many whiskeys.

“Sorry Brady for the roof tile.”
He gave the broken title to him and wrote on it “Dear John, an expensive way of playing marbles!”
Terry then placed it in one of his trophy cabinets at home alongside replicas of the Premier League trophy and FA Cup.
Fans thought it was hilarious, as reported on What’s The Jam.
Ben Lucareli said: “I was dying when you hit the roof.
“We’ve all been there, JT.”
Pal Ross Snape added: “Glad to see I’m not the only one to hit the clubhouse.”
Eamonn O’Malley said: “Surely you paid for the tiles JT.”
