Haunting poems about how elderly people living with dementia should be treated with respect have been discovered on the walls of an abandoned care home.
Urban explorer Daniel Sims, who goes by the name Bearded Reality online, came across the writings while exploring the derelict building.
The 35-year-old, from Huddersfield, UK, was fascinated by the beauty of the property, which was known as Ash House, but he did find it pretty spooky.

The poems, painted on the walls, served as a reminder to staff and visitors to take more care and consideration with residents with conditions such as dementia.
Finding them made Daniel think about how it must feel for those diagnosed with impaired brain function.
“It was quite surreal to be honest and really made you think what it must be like to live with diseases like dementia,” Daniel told What’s The Jam.
“It was super cool to see as well as quite creepy.”
Upon entering the abandoned home, the urban explorer felt the building was ‘pretty grand’, and found it quite sad that it had been so neglected, and vandalised.

It featured mazy hallways and beautiful wood-panelled rooms that had flooded in a few areas because of copper thieves.
Daniel, who shared the footage on YouTube, was also left a little spooked by the place after hearing rumours it is haunted.
He said: “The place itself was pretty spooky and we were quite on edge as it is rumoured to be haunted. We definitely heard a few strange things that made us pause.

“The entire building itself is pretty grand, however it has suffered years of vandalism and neglect.
“There were long winding corridors that just seem to go on, covered in hand-painted pictures, poems, and reminders for the staff and visitors to respect residents.
“The wood-panelled rooms and corridors are stunning; however it’s a shame as copper thieves have caused a bit of flooding in a few areas.”
Located in Sheffield, the property was built in 1915 originally for a family of wealthy lawyers.
It was a children’s home from the 1940s to 1980s, and became a residential care home in the 1990s with a capacity of 40 beds.
In 2016, Ash House closed was later put for sale, but remains untouched since the property was sold.
Daniel has previously made headlines sharing footage of his foray into an abandoned zoo – where he found snake skins, animal moults and breeding tanks left behind.
