Skint home hunters can snap up a house for just £50, but there is a catch…they have to build it.

The barren patch is sandwiched between semi-detached houses.

It is going up for auction with a ridiculously low guide price.

It is just £2 and 2p more than the price of two large pizzas from Domino’s – that are up to £23.99 each.

The empty plot is located in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, and it will be sold by Auction House and advertised on Rightmove.

It used to have an actual home on it, but it was demolished after a fire.

It creates a perfect opportunity for a prospective home buyer to get on the property ladder amid the cost of living crisis.

The description reads: “Parcel of land formerly 184 Hasting Street for development subject to planning permission.

“184 Hastings Street was demolished following a fire and the cleared and level site makes an ideal self build opportunity, subject to planning permission.

However, there are some additional fees associated with the property.

An admin fee of £1,200 including VAT and a buyer’s premium fee of a further £1,200, both of which are payable upon exchange of contracts.

The average house on the street cost £55,917 in the past year.

The auction takes place on 29 January.
