A once thriving rocket facility reportedly used by the U.S. Airforce is now an abandoned shell where the floor is covered in rubble and dirt.

It just the place to lure urban explorer, who only wants to be known as Feathers.Everywhere, who shares the shocking sights she comes across when investigating places forgotten-in-time.

She claims the Airforce contributed $3 million towards the base, which was solely for the manufacturing and testing of solid-fuel rockets in 1963.

However, sometime around 1969 when Nasa decided against this kind of rocket, the site was shut down.

Now, Feathers.Everywhere has shared her foray into the decaying centre, racking up 1,900 views.

“After a long legal battle between the company working with Nasa and the state of Florida, it was sold to the state and traded for land in Nevada,” she told What’s The Jam.

“It has sat empty ever since.”

The explorer visited the rocket jet facility in July 2023 while travelling through South Florida.

She said: “The buildings have become a spot for graffiti writers to gather and every part is almost covered in paint.

“The rocket was transported by rails and some buildings show obvious signs of where these rails ran.

“Some large machinery remains, but the most intriguing thing is the missile constructed here and still housed in the 180ft-deep silo underground at the hub’s farthest point.

“Now covered with concrete barriers and metal grates, it’s impossible to get to the rocket, even though it still remains buried in the Florida swamp land to this day.”

In her video clip, she reveals the graffiti and decrepit walls, which now encompass the empty, rotting building.

The fire escape can be seen snapped in half, while other steps and stairs are missing.

The old lockers are also covered in graffiti, and other cabinets are caved in.

The floors are covered in rubble, and wires and pipes hang from the ceiling.

One follower said: “Did y’all see the rocket?”

Preston commented: “Super sick wid it.”

Someone else wrote: “I’m 3rd wheeling on the next adventure, place looks sick.”

Another added: “It’s way better at night.”
