A well-known winner of the Chelsea Flower Show has designed and added their gardening expertise to a mansion’s four-acre garden up for sale.

The Grade II listed house, located near Tintagel, North Cornwall, dates back to the 14th century and has been carefully renovated with original features in mind.

Trebrea Manor has fantastic entertaining spaces, with two reception rooms on the ground floor, as well as a drawing room, both with open fires.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, all featuring their own en-suite bathroom, which are finished with period style accents, such as large sash windows and high ceilings with intricate mouldings.

There’s also a large, modern kitchen and breakfast room on the ground floor offering picturesque views over the south coast and onto the Atlantic, with access to the patio area – ideal for those warm summer nights.

The four-acre garden grounds include a gated garden to the front, a terraced lawn to the rear, along with woodland, an orchard, and a spring-fed stream.

And privacy is key, with the home set back from a quiet lane and accessed through a pair of formal stone piers and wooden gates, leading to a circular carriage driveway.

Across the lane, directly in front of the property, there’s an enclosed paddock, protecting the view and providing excellent additional space.

As well as the main residence, there are also the north and south pavilions on either side, both in need of restoration, but offer the opportunity for guest homes or rentals.

Overseen by award-winning architect, Simon Conder, known for his 2003 Black Rubber Beach House on Dungess Beach – the first building in the UK to be clad in this particular rubber waterproofing – the expansive grounds were restored by Jinny Blom, landscape architect, and Chelsea Flower Show winner.

Overlooking St Materiana’s Church, as well as only a stone’s throw away from the Cornish coast, there’s many activities and sights waiting to be explored.

Several beaches, including Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are also within easy reach, with surfing the main attraction for those who love the water.

The property and its grounds are listed with John Bray Estates with a guide price of £2.5 million.
