An abandoned home with a hidden built-in chapel has hit the market – but buyers are warned about potential spooky neighbours.

Situated in the city of Derby, the forgotten-in-time property comes with a unique history and dates back to the Edwardian era, having been built in 1900.

But since it’s been left completely abandoned, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done to transform the home for modern living.

And there’s a secret room waiting for potential buyers.

Aside from the three bedrooms, open-plan kitchen and dining room, as well as the spacious living room, there’s also a hidden chapel.

With high ceilings, original fixtures and stained glass windows, the space offers a great opportunity to be turned into an extension.

But buyers need to be aware of their invisible neighbours in the back garden – which used to be a local cemetery.

Posted on Reddit, people have shared their thoughts and opinions on the poignant property.

Another person added: “If this were local I’d genuinely buy it today…”

The property, however, does come with a set of strict rules due to its 150-year leasehold.
