A stunning river and sand dunes snap has won International Landscape Photographer of the Year.

A whopping 3,600 entries from both professional and amateur snappers were handed into the competition.

J.Fritz Rumpf was named the 2025 Photographer of the Year for his four picture folio.

The snapper from the USA, submitted four breathtaking images including the astonishing ‘River and Dunes’ shot in Lençóis Maranhenses, Brazil.

He scooped up the $12,500 (£9,479) prize money for his winning entry.

Lukas Trixl was handed the photograph of the year award for his brilliant ‘The Land Before Time’ snap.

The Austrian photographer captured the image in New Plymouth, North Island, New Zealand.

A wider range of special awards were handed out including the Black and White category – given to Torsten Pull.

The snapper from the UK won the title for his ‘Curves’ shot on the Skeleton Coast, Namibia.

The Seascape category was won by Jeroen Van Nieuwenhove for their incredible ‘Iceberg Spiral’.

The Icelandic snapper took the stunning picture in Disko Bay, Greenland.

Kung-Fu Li from Taiwan, won the Snow and Ice award for their shot taken in the Nakagawa District, Hokkaido, Japan.

The snap titled ‘A Whisper of Light’ shows the famous Harunire Tree – two Japanese elm trees which grew to form one.

The Stormy Sky category was won by Dennis Hualong Zhang for his ‘Supercell’ entry.

The image was captured by the Armenian photographer in New Mexico, USA, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Benjamin Barakat captured the winning image of the Lone Tree category for his ‘Queen Bottle Tree’ snap.

The image was taken in Socotra, Yemen, by the Swiss snapper.

Karol Nienartowicz was the runner up for the Photographer of the Year award for her set of four impressive pictures.

The Polish snapper’s entry included the ‘Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah’ and ‘Shiprock’ from New Mexico, USA.

The folio also included the ‘Salar de Gorbea’ in Atacama, Andes, Chile and the ‘Delta Pool’ from Moab, USA.

Second place for the Photograph of the Year award was handed to Albert Dros for his ‘Porcelain Shrooms’ snap.

The stunning picture was taken in the Speulder forest, Veluwe Area, the Netherlands.

Peter Eastway, Chairman of the judges said: “This is the twelfth year of our awards. We received 3601 entries and the threshold for inclusion in the book (a Top 101 entry) was a score of 86.6%.

“And as we have done in previous years, we’ve included an online listing of the next 101 top scoring photographs (our Top 202+).

“Congratulations to all these photographers.”
