You can now buy a backpack for your dog for the bargain price of £294.

Luxury designer Tsuchiya Kaban is the only company that designs ‘randoseru’ for pooches.

A randoseru is a firm-sided backpack made of stitched firm leather, or leather-like synthetic material, and is most commonly used in Japan by primary school children.

Kids are often gifted the bag to mark the beginning of their first year of school and use it right the way through to Year 6.

On the website, the product is listed as a “pet randoseru” and features “high quality leather craftsmanship”.

The bag is also equipped with a harness that fits perfectly over a dog’s body.

It is recommended for pooches on the smaller side and is targeted towards those weighing 17.5lbs or less.

Despite being compact, there is still space to fit treats and toys, which makes it ideal for a dog to carry on a trip to the park.

Fitted with several D-rings, a lead can be attached directly to the backpack.

It is also possible for owners to remove the leather straps so that they can carry it, allowing their dog to run freely and play.

In fact, it is currently sold out.

Dog lovers are able to register on Tokyo-based Tsuchiya Kaban’s website so that they can be notified when the bag is available again.
