A heartbroken man has bid farewell to his beloved 38st, 23ft long snake after he passed away in his arms.

Mohammad Redzuan Abdullah, 39, had the reticulated python – called Cik Kiah – for over 20 years.

He said: “He wasn’t just a pet.

“He was a friend and family member.”

The species of snake usually only grows to 16ft and weighs about 11st.

Cik Kiah died suddenly after getting an infection at his home in Pulau Pinang, Penang Island, Malaysia.

Together with two pals, they wrapped his remains in cling film and placed it in a freezer.

He explained that the Department of Wildlife Protection and National Parks would collect the corpse within 14 days so he had to preserve it until their arrival.

The clip was viewed 82,000 and 64,000 times respectively.
