A mum who stepped out one morning to move her bins was stag-gered after being confronted – by a huge antlered deer.
Katie Smedley was enchanted by the majestic red deer stag, who was busily munching the berries on her rowan tree just feet from her front door.
The mum-of-two thought she was in a scene from a Harry Potter film during the magical encounter on her lawn in Cannock, Staffs.

Katie has lived in her home with girls Rosie, nine, Daisy, seven, and partner James for four years. It was the first time she’s ever witnessed a deer there.
“I woke up to this beautiful stag on my front lawn. I thought I was dreaming when I saw it,” she told What’s The Jam.
“It was a wonderful experience.
“My daughters loved it.
“We are wildlife fans and just love nature. I think he must have come from Cannock forest.
“Even though he was so big I wasn’t frightened because he was just so calm.”
Katie even chatted to the beast saying hello and asking if he was hungry and thanking him for trimming her tree.
And she introduced her enchanted daughters – at a safe distance.
The encounter lasted around 15 minutes with the stag eventually making his way back to where it came from.
Cannock forest is home to several species of deer including red deer and fallow deer.
