An incredible video has captured the moment a pod of dolphins decided to join some local surfers in the waves.
Nick Liotta was filming the swell with a few friends in Rincon Beach, California, when he noticed something bouncing in the waves.
The 33-year-old zoomed in to the area, and realised it was a pod of dolphins catching some waves with the locals.
He shared the clip on Instagram, (@surfline ), where the post has garnered over 47.6 million views.

“When I noticed what it was, I was blown away,” Nick, a social media specialist, told What’s The Jam.

“I have seen dolphins in the water while surfing, but never seen them catch a wave with a surfer.
“I was so shocked, you can hear my excitement in the video.”
In the clip shared to social media, Nick films the ocean as he captures surfers riding the waves on 29 December 2023.

Then, out of nowhere, a tiny head bobs up, and goes back down again.
Next, a whole dolphin can be seen jumping out of the water.
Soon, the rest of the pod can also be seen leaping along the waves as they glide around the surfers, who look on in awe.

Nick and his friends can be heard laughing and cheering.
The post was captioned: “If you get dropped in on at Rincon, it was most likely on porpoise,” and has gained over 2.5m likes, as well as 9,000 comments so far.
One person said: “What an unbelievable moment.”
Felix commented: “That’s a real party wave!”
