A majestic eagle has been spotted posing in front of a city traffic camera at sunset.
The bird of prey stared straight into the lens, creating a striking image that has set the internet on fire.
The eagle appeared to take an interest in the street camera for several minutes before taking to the air.
It landed on the traffic camera in the Mexican capital Mexico City at around 6.25pm on Wednesday (7 Apr).
It was spotted by monitors at the Command, Control, Computing, Communications, and Citizen Contact Centre (C5) of Mexico City, as reported by What’s The Jam.
C5 coordinator Dr. Salvador Guerrero Chiprés said: “We don’t just monitor videos, sometimes we are also monitored.
“At the C2 Centre of C5 in Mexico City, we have eagle-eyed vision.”
One local said, “Wow, what a powerful image!”
“He’s looking for a snake to eat,” added another.
A third remarked: “It is a sign from the country that everything is going to hell.”
Rafa said: “The eagle: ‘There used to be a lake here.’”
Xavi added: “Is there a danger to children aged three to five or younger, perhaps playing in a park, when an eagle is circling the city?”
According to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), there are 22 species of eagles in Mexico.
Many of them are classified as vulnerable due to the loss and degradation of their natural habitats in the country.
