Four cheeky otters teased a fearsome jaguar…and they won.
The big cat was seen on the riverbank as it eyes up the animals in the water.
Just as the jaguar thinks about pouncing, three other giant otters suddenly pop their heads out of the water.

The big cat retreats and bides its time on the riverbank.
It apparently sees a lone otter and decides to pounce on it in the water.
But the clever otter moves out of the way before showing itself to the predator, apparently teasing it.
The demoralised jaguar decides to retreat again as the otters gang up again and the clip comes to an end.
The encounter took place at the São Lourenço River in Porto Jofre, west of Brasilia, Brazil,

Wildlife photographer and tour guide Octavio Campos Salles said the face-off ended in the otters not being made lunch.
He told What’s The Jam: “Both sides retreated simultaneously.”

“A jaguar was mobbed by a group of giant otters, sparking a dramatic conflict.”
Octavio, who co-owns the company Pantanal Photo Tours, added: “Jaguars and giant otters are far from friendly with one another, and this rare interaction showcased the fascinating dynamics of these apex predators.”
He said giant otters, also known as giant river otters, can be very effective against jaguars in numbers.
He explained: “For jaguars, it’s very risky to face giant otters in a group as a bite can mean death in the wild.”
Giant otters are the largest member of mustelids, animals in the same family as otters and badgers.
The Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature categorises giant otters as ‘endangered’.
