A high school dropout who once felt “stuck” in a menial retail job has revealed how drop shipping transformed her life. Now, at 25, she’s eager to share her knowledge with others.

Zali Gillings, who left high school early, began her career working in a butcher shop before moving on to a retail job. Unhappy with her life, she often cried in her car before starting her shifts.

Desperate for a change, Zali enrolled in a six-week ecommerce course with 6 Figure Drop Shipper, a business that teaches the drop shipping model.

This method allows sellers to accept customer orders without holding inventory, purchasing products at a lower price from another vendor to fulfill orders, often through automated processes.

“I did work experience at the butcher shop, washing dishes and doing similar tasks for a week,” Zali recalled. “When it ended, I was offered an apprenticeship, and since I had no clear career aspirations, I took it. Seven years later, I tried retail but instantly hated it. I felt trapped in an endless loop, parking my car and crying before shifts.”

Three years ago, Zali decided to take control of her life by joining the ecommerce course. The turning point came when she saw a social media post by an old schoolmate, Reza Qorbanie, who shared success stories of his drop shipping students, many of whom were making impressive incomes.

Zali reached out to Reza and enrolled in the six-week program, which included self-paced, pre-recorded modules that she could complete while still working full-time. Her enthusiasm and personality impressed the founder, who invited her to join the team and train others in ecommerce.

“My partner, now fiancé, was skeptical but supportive. My mum inspired me to pursue different opportunities; she always encouraged me to say yes and seize what I want,” Zali said. “You never know what lies ahead, so just say yes.”

Since embarking on her new career, Zali has enjoyed the freedom to work from anywhere. “I teach people how to start drop shipping stores and achieve financial freedom.

It feels amazing to help others leave jobs they don’t enjoy,” she explained. “I recently visited Italy with the team, went to Bali, and even went on a cruise earlier this year.”

Zali emphasized the importance of mindset and the broad range of skills gained through the course. “I had no qualifications in marketing, website building, content creation, or accounting.

Now, I know how to run Facebook and Instagram ads, create content, build websites, and manage suppliers,” she said. “You’d need multiple degrees to learn all those things, but here, it’s all hands-on learning.”

The program Zali coaches now has over 7,100 students from diverse backgrounds. While it’s designed for anyone, she takes particular pride in helping “everyday working-class people” and families seeking better lives for their kids, as well as those who work long hours and want a way out of the grind.

“This job is so fulfilling. I get to help change lives every day and work from anywhere. It’s all I’ve ever wanted,” Zali concluded.
