A woman has shared how she takes her cat along on hiking adventures in the mountains spanning over 30 miles.
Kaylin Meyer and her cat, Maxine, adore the outdoors just as much as they love each other.
The 34-year-old got the Lynx Point Siamese in 2021 and they have since been been on dozens of backpacking, hiking and camping road trips.

Their walks typically range between six and 16 miles, although one adventure did pan out over 30 miles.
Max, who is a rescue cat, aged three, will walk in one-mile increments throughout the journeys.
When she isn’t walking, she’s jumping up on rocks, chasing grasshoppers or climbing trees.
She also enjoys sitting atop Kaylin’s backpack or on her shoulders while they explore.
“Maxine was destined to adopt my adventurous lifestyle and love for adventure in the great outdoors,” Kaylin, who lives in Utah, US, told What’s The Jam.
“Her favourite thing to do is take in all the smells, eat grass, jump rocks, climb trees, catch flies and chase grasshoppers.”
The couple have visited many US states, including California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Utah.
Kaylin said: “Once we drove 28 hours to sleep in a tent for 16 hours. Max hasn’t travelled internationally yet, but that’s next on the list!”
The content creator and global marketing lead strongly believes that cats belong in a world where they are treated equal to dogs.
And she hopes to inspire others to explore the outdoors by sharing her and Max’s adventures, which she describes as “the most magical”.
She said: “I believe the outside is the best side and no cat should be sentenced to life indoors.
“I believe in a futuristic world where cats are treated as equally as dogs.
“My goal is to inspire people to get outside whether or not they have someone to join them and to take their cat with them instead.
“You are never really alone when you’re with your cat.
“My cat is always by my side, sharing in the adventure and adding to the richness of the experience.”
Kaylin regularly posts videos documenting her travels with Maxine, which her 58,000 followers adore.
