Passengers were left stranded on the tarmac for more than an hour after a swarm of bees covered the wing of the plane.
The throng of insects surrounded the left wing shortly after the aircraft touched down on Monday (22 January).
Families were anxious to get home from their holidays but were prevented from disembarking for their own safety.
The flight from Fernando de Noronha, Brazil, landed in Natal, WHERE at 12:35 pm, but saw people stuck onboard until 1:50 pm.

Photographer Everton César was on board and was baffled by the pilot’s announcement.

He told local media: “The plane landed and was quickly taxied to the disembarkation point.
“After getting there, we all formed a line to get off, feeling very happy, at 12:33 pm.
“We were taken by surprise.

“Up until then, I hadn’t seen anything, but soon they began buzzing around the entire aircraft.
“They started landing on the plane’s windows.
“So, everyone sat down to wait out the episode.”

The bees refused to budge, causing the pilot to call for the fire department who were able to successfully remove the bees from the plane.
Footage taken from the cabin shows how firemen sprayed jets of liquid at the insects to knock them to the ground.
He added: “It took them some time to arrive, assess the situation, and figure out what to do.
“Then, some of the bees settled on one of the plane’s wings, while the rest continued flying above the aircraft.
“The firefighters used a substance to contain the bees.
“There were many, and they wouldn’t leave the aircraft.
“It took quite a while.”
A spokesperson from Airline Voepass said it followed safety procedures “without any incidents, keeping the aircraft closed and air-conditioned”.
“After the removal of the bees, all passengers disembarked safely, the aircraft underwent maintenance, and then it was cleared for the next flight.”
