The self-styled King of Benidorm claims a struggling Ibiza resort could soon rival the party hotspot, insisting his nightlife influence can revive tourism and stag culture

A man dubbed the ‘King of Benidorm’ has revealed which holiday hotspot could soon give the party city a ‘run for its money’.

Frank ‘The Stag Man’ – as he’s best known online – hails from Tottenham, but made the Spanish destination his home long after attending a stag do.

The 55-year-old has cemented himself over there, and in the UK, as being the go-to Brit for any tips or advice relating to the party city.

But now, despite Benidorm’s tourism market booming, he’s found opportunity elsewhere; and believes it’s in line to overtake the title as Britain’s number one holiday hotspot.

“I have my sights set on a resort in Ibiza,” he told Whats The Jam.

“It’s currently failing – but my Stagman expertise could change that.

“It needs people like me with mass influence and the love of clubbing.

“It’d bring back life to the tourism market and get it moving like it used to.

“Times change, as does the world, and for Ibiza it’s become lost over the years.

“It’s at breaking point.

“Now, I can make it the number one holiday destination for stag and hen parties once again.

“And even give Benidorm a run for its money.”

Frank attributes a number of reasons as to why Ibiza has lost its edge.

In 2022, over three million tourists flocked to the location for its booming nightlife.

In the same year, Benidorm only had two million tourists.

But last year, over 17 million tourists visited the city, whereas only 3.4 million people went to Ibiza.

Frank said: “Prices are higher in Ibiza, as it’s an island, so everything is transported and taxed.

“But you can still get cheap prices there, too.

“So cost isn’t really the issue.

“The resorts have stopped looking at what people want, focusing only on making money.

“[I get that] money makes the world go round – and people will pay for quality.

“But there’s a lack of moving with the times and too many drastic changes that have killed the vibe.

“It’s bad management on a large scale, with business owners getting their information from people who are unable to attract the right kind of tourists.

“Many businesses on the island think slapping ‘IBIZA’ on the front is enough to make it work.

“But that just doesn’t cut it anymore; no one cares about that.

“A name like mine brings tourists; especially as I’m known for helping people create amazing memories.”

While Frank expects tourism numbers to keep rising in Benidorm, his work there is now done.

He’ll keep running his respective businesses, including multiple bars, travel agents and restaurants.

But there’s one pressing issue that could see it dip just like Ibiza.

He added: “Benidorm is a truly magical place – it’s the Disneyland for those up for a good time.

“It’s, no doubt, the stag and hen capital of the world.

“But there’s an increase in robberies and muggings.

“If it wasn’t suffering from this massive crime issue, then it’d be doing so much better.

“It’s my job to stop Benidorm, as well as Ibiza, from becoming ghost towns.

“I’ll give the islands another year and then I’ll make my move.

“Watch this space – the King is coming.”
