A couple who travelled from Lincolnshire to Romania to test out a spa they spotted on TikTok have shared their brutal feedback – and there’s one opening in the UK soon, too.
Therme Bucharest promises visitors spa treatments, water slides, swimming pools, and a relaxing environment.
However, Khloe Jennings and her partner Alex’s experience didn’t quite live up to the online hype, thanks to “rude staff, overcrowding, and bad food”.
The couple, both 30, left their Lincolnshire home in the early hours of Sunday morning to fly off to Romania, after seeing glowing reviews of it on social media.

Entry to the spa was £32 each, with wristbands for food, drink, and massage beds added taking their total to £77.
Coupled with their flights costing £128.46, it seemed like a relatively good value day out at first – totalling £205.46.
“We love spas, and after seeing this one on TikTok and Facebook, I wanted to go,” Khloe, an events manager, told What’sTheJam.com.
“I was so excited, especially after seeing all the TikTok videos.

“First impressions were that it was huge and looked very clean.
“[But] once we checked in, nothing was really explained to us, we just had to figure it out.
“The main pool that you see on social media is the first area past the changing rooms and lockers, and it didn’t look as impressive as social media makes it look.

“The things that let it down was mainly the overcrowding.
“There were too many people and flip-flops abandoned absolutely everywhere.
“It was almost impossible to relax.
“People were so rude – staff and guests.
“Every now and then there were water aerobics classes, and the music was so loud across the whole spa, making it so much less relaxing also.
“This is 100% not a tranquil spa – even if it is a fun one.”
Sadly, the couple don’t anticipate a return.
Khloe, who visited the spa on 21 January, said: “The main reason I would not visit again is because it is too touristy and overcrowded.
“The food in one restaurant was so dry we almost asked for a refund.
“Because of the sheer amount of people, food and drink service was also really slow.
“The mini sessions are almost impossible to take part in as queues form early and people become like savage animals when trying to get in the rooms for them.
“We ended up leaving the queue as people were pushing and shoving and being so rude.
“Staff were generally not helpful and not kind.”
Khloe took to Facebook to share her review, with users thanking her for her honesty.
Aylin Eva said: “Thank you for the detailed review. I am guessing this is a reason for people telling me that it’s not worth going there.”
Vaishali Semwal said: “Thank you so much, definitely not for me!!”
“Really helpful review, thanks for this,” wrote Lorna Phillip.
Hannah Wright said: “I love your honest review. Very refreshing to hear that not everything was perfect and also helpful for those planning a trip. Well done Khloe.”
Jam Press has contacted Therme Group for a comment on several occasions but has not received one at the time of distribution.
