A British influencer has been mocked after claiming Benidorm is becoming the “new Dubai” – with influencers reportedly flying in to enjoy this “playground for the rich”.
Graham White from Birmingham – better known online as Grumet – has more than 115,000 followers on TikTok, and is known for his frequent travels to the holiday hot spot.
In a recent post, he shared a brief clip of a neon-lit high-rise building in the Spanish resort popular with Brits.

Filming the hotel – known as The Royal Arrow – he described it as a “skyscraper”, despite it only having 15 floors, and suggested the area was attracting wealthy visitors.
“You can understand why all the influencers from Dubai come to Benidorm now,” Graham told What’s The Jam.
“Like they all come here for their Instagram post rather than Dubai, Jamaica, like look at the skyscrapers, just don’t understand why they all flock to Benidorm rather than Dubai.
“They call it the new Dubai, it’s called the new Dubai.
“Where else would you see something like that.
“When I post videos, people think it’s actually Dubai but it’s not, it’s Benidorm.”
Referring to the hotel, he added: “It’s like something you see out of a movie.
“You can’t tell me that doesn’t look like Dubai.
“The palm trees, the seagulls, everything.”
He added in the caption that the resort is turning into a “playground for the rich”.
But viewers were quick to laugh about the absurd comparison.
One person joked: “Playground for Universal Credit.”
Jay said: “Mate that’s a lie,” to which Graham responded “It’s not is it, why are people saying this.”
“Scy scraper, lad it’s about 10 floors,” added Jorge.
“It’s nothing like Dubai but that hotel is actually nice stayed there last year would recommend it,” said someone else.
The influencer, who regularly shares videos about life in Benidorm, has built a following posting about cheap deals, nightlife and the realities of expat living.
Benidorm has long been known as a budget-friendly destination popular with British tourists, rather than a luxury hotspot – leaving viewers stunned at Graham’s latest comments.
