A woman has gone viral on TikTok after sharing the disastrous result of wearing a blue top to her work Christmas party – which turned her armpits blue.
Beth Gray, 25, originally from Leeds, had purchased the Dream Daze Cobalt Blue Feather Bandeau Crop Top from Club London for £65 for the occasion.
Donning her new look for the festive gathering, Beth was stunned when the dyed feathers transferred onto her skin – leaving her with ‘Smurf’ armpits.
Luckily, the influencer, who now lives in London, saw the funny side and shared a clip of her showing off her colourful pits on TikTok, in a post that has gone viral with 1.2 million views and 68,000 likes.
The clip shows her posing at the start of the night, before holding her arms up in the bathroom to show the light blue stained skin after an hour of wear, the colour darkening over time and then the remaining stain the following morning.
“I was taking a picture of my friend when she said ‘Beth look at your armpit’ – I looked down and I was like ‘oh my god’,” Beth told NeedToKnow.online.
“As the night went on this gradually got worse.
“I was at my work’s Christmas party. We all had to laugh about it and I was getting called a Smurf.
“I’m so glad I brought a blazer with me to cover up my blue armpits.
“I had to laugh at the situation then and now.
“I have spoken with Club L and a refund is been processed.”
TikTok users also saw the funny side, taking to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“No way,” one user said, followed by laughing emojis.
Another person commented: “Took that out my basket so quick.”
“Made my night,” someone else added.
Another person said: “I’d cry.”
“What in the Cookie Monster?” joked someone else.
Another user claimed: “I have the black and the next morning I was covered in black dye on my stomach and thought I’d manage to badly bruise myself.”
“Well that’s coming out of my basket,” said someone else.
“Oh my lord I’d be fuming,” agreed another user.
Other users dubbed her ‘Avatar’ and ‘Christmas Smurf’.
Jam Press has contacted Club London for comment.
