A rare, original Beatles gig poster has sold for £3,000 at auction.
The flyer advertises the Fab Four’s concert at The Royal Hall in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
The gig took place 60-years-ago on 8 March 1963.

It was the only time that The Beatles played in the upmarket town.

It was a random stop-off and was a stand alone gig and now part of their year-round tour
The Beatles had only released two singles when they played in Harrogate.
The poster appears to be in good condition.
It features green text that reads: “Dancing for teens and twenties.

It was sold at Tennants Auctioneers in Harrogate.
The listing reads: “The vendor states ‘The Apaches and The Mustangs were local Harrogate groups.
”Johnny Lockhead of the Apaches kept this poster from the 1963 night, in the 1970’s took it into a picture framers on Strawberry Dale Avenue in Harrogate to be framed.

”He never returned for it.
”In approximately 1984 the framer agreed to sell it to me.
”Smaller copies have been made from it.
”This is original.”
