A Netflix star has revealed he was stung in the groin by a scorpion while filming a new show.
Rafael Zea was on set for One Hundred Years of Solitude when he was stung five times just two inches away from his testicles.
The 47-year-old actor, who plays Dr Alirio Noguera, says he was filming his first scene in the middle of a forest when it happened.

He said: “The night I became part of One Hundred Years of Solitude, a scorpion stung me five times, two centimetres from my balls.

“Production stopped and some were scared, I was happily in pain, and others were laughing nervously.”
Rafael said a nurse treated him with ointments and injections.
He said: “She asked me over and over again if I was okay if I had intense pain and tingling if I could breathe, how my tongue was…and my balls.

“Afterwards, production said they would cut the recording that night and take me to a hospital.

“I calmed them down and told them that everything was fine and that my balls were better than ever.
“So that night, illuminated by a silver moon, hidden in the thick forest and with his balls burned, a product of the scorpion’s welcome, Alirio Noguera planted the seed of the revolution in Macondo.
“That’s how I shot my first scene in One Hundred Years of Solitude.”

The show is a magical realism series based on the 1967 novel by Gabriel García Márquez,
Rafael said at first he thought it was a nip from an ant and continued with filming.

But as the pain intensified, the arachid stung him another four times.
The actor, from Bogotá, Colombia, was eventually forced to remove his trousers.
And it quickly became clear that the culprit was a scorpion.
Rafael was left with no lasting damage.
The television series was released in the UK on 11 December, and Rafael shared his unique encounter on social media a few days later, as reported by What’s The Jam.
