James Blunt has been savagely mocked on X after expressing his frustration over fake accounts pretending to be him – as fans point out a big mistake.
It seems the singer – made famous for his heartbreak ballads like ‘You’re Beautiful’ – can’t quite catch a break from social media scammers.
He most recently made headlines denying he’s a criminal after Kent Police released an e-fit with a striking resemblance to the star – and now he’s back with more beef, reports What’s The Jam.
Sharing an image of the many fake accounts with his name, Blunt asks: “Hey @X, how many James Blunts will it take till you realise your app is broken?”
Hilariously, however, the image the singer has included appears to actually be a screenshot from a different social media platform: TikTok.
Blunt later shares an additional image of what looks like X accounts – but it is far too late for savage fans – who have already jumped in with their comments.
Ian said: “You’re on the wrong app.”
Stephen joked: “I saw your face… in a crowded place. And X doesn’t know what to do.”
“For starters that’s TikTok mate,” said Sam.
“That’s TikTok old boy,” said Josh.
“Goodbye my lovers….” joked Scott.
Kickboxer Tristan Tate also joined in on the fun, asking Blunt to prove his identity.
“How do we know you’re the real one though? I think this is a bot trying to get the real guy banned watch out,” he joked.
Joe Bangles, the ‘Secretary for Cheese’, asked perhaps the most poignant question: “I wonder if any of them have a favourite cheese?”
“I like a James Blunt as much as the next woman but that is too many James Blunts,” added Fran.
