Sainsbury’s is now selling the cheapest carving pumpkins of the major UK supermarkets, with Nectar shoppers paying just 50p each ahead of Halloween.
Shoppers with a Nectar card can buy two medium pumpkins for £1.
That undercuts Tesco and Aldi, which both sell standard carving pumpkins for 55p, and Morrisons, where a standard pumpkin costs 59p.

Those without a loyalty card will pay 59p each at Sainsbury’s, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Anyone after something more impressive can choose from larger sizes too.

A large pumpkin will set shoppers back £1.75, while the biggest option, dubbed the “monster pumpkin”, costs £3.
Every pumpkin in the range is grown in Britain.
Shoppers stocking up early are advised to keep their pumpkins in a cool, dry spot and leave them whole until they’re ready to start carving or decorating, so they stay fresh for longer.

The Nectar deal runs until October 31, or while stocks last, and covers both delivery and click-and-collect orders.

Prices and availability may vary by store, so shoppers may want to check with their local branch before heading out.
The full range of Halloween pumpkins can be found on the Sainsbury’s website.
