Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has been slammed by locals after a van he uses was driven onto a narrow ‘no vehicle’ harbour wall to film him fishing.
The blue Mercedes 508D van motored along the half-mile-long breakwater, at Brixham, Devon, on Thursday (8 Oct).
The historic structure, designed to protect the town’s fishing fleet and harbour, is normally pedestrian only.

But a video showed the vehicle slowly moving along its walkway.
Another clip then showed it parked up with another car behind with flashing hazard lights and the chef stood nearby with a fishing rod.
Locals who were on the breakwater at the time later confirmed Kerridge was being filmed fishing.
Though some said he failed to catch anything.
The van was later seen being driven back off the breakwater, as reported by What’s The Jam

The distinctive blue van has been used by the TV star in previous media and television work.
It appeared in the 2024 ITV series Tom Kerridge Cooks as well as a Marks & Spencer advertising campaign.
Some locals in Brixham immediately recognised it but were shocked it had been allowed on the breakwater.

One said: “Do they not realise vehicles don’t normally go along there?”

While a third said: “Good luck on reversing.”
Another witness said: “Vehicles aren’t allowed on the breakwater.
“People aren’t allowed to dive on it – they must have sought permission.”
Another said: “The van says Tom Kerridge on the side so I guess they’re filming.”

Kerridge, 53, is one of Britain’s most known chefs.
He owns pubs and restaurants and has presented TV shows and published several books.
Torbay Council, Brixham Harbour Authority and Kerridge have been asked for comment.
