A Wetherspoons hack could slash your meal bill by up to 50% – yet most diners have no idea.

Customers are being urged to check one simple thing before ordering after a viral money-saving hack revealed diners could be paying almost double for the exact same meal.

The little-known trick involves comparing prices between different Wetherspoons pubs using the chain’s app before deciding where to eat.

While many customers assume prices are the same across the country, food and drink costs can actually vary between individual pubs – even those located in the same town.

In one example highlighted online, an all-day brunch cost £10.26 at a Wetherspoons in Milton Keynes.

However, a short drive away at Captain Ridley’s Shooting Party in nearby Bletchley, the exact same meal was priced at just £5.75.

Another comparison found ham, egg and chips with a soft drink cost £8.33 at The Roebuck Inn in Nottingham, while the same food and drink came to £5.51 at The Gooseberry Bush, located less than a mile away.

The hack was shared by money-saving expert Jordon Cox, known online as Coupon Kid UK, who regularly posts shopping and dining deals on social media.

In a video explaining the trick, he told followers: “Did you know Wetherspoons pubs offer different pricing at each restaurant?

“This can even happen in the exact same town if there are more than one Spoons.”

Jordon suggested customers use the Wetherspoons app to compare nearby locations before heading out.

He said diners with multiple Wetherspoons pubs nearby could potentially save money simply by walking a little further for their meal.

The tip has surprised many social media users, with some admitting they had never realised the chain operated different pricing structures between pubs.

Another person said: “I guess it’s time to start cherrypicking the Spoons I go to.”

One person said: “I live in MK and never noticed this. Bletchley is usually our go-to one. Wow thanks.”

Someone else said: “Coupon Kid telling us what not to spend money on, I like this.”

Others hailed Jordon for the money-saving tip, with one simply commenting: “Thank you.”

Wetherspoons has long used location-based pricing, with factors such as rent, business rates and operating costs influencing menu prices at individual pubs.

That means customers willing to travel a little further could end up paying significantly less for exactly the same food and drink.

For regular diners, those savings could quickly add up.
