Tesco is scrapping delivery charges on thousands of grocery orders as part of a new limited-time promotion.

The supermarket giant has confirmed customers using its rapid delivery service, Whoosh, will be able to get their shopping delivered for free for one week.

The offer runs from 11 June to 17 June and applies to all Whoosh orders worth £25 or more, as reported by Whats The Jam.

Usually, customers pay a delivery charge when using the on-demand service, which allows shoppers to order groceries, household essentials and other items from their local Tesco store and receive them in as little as 20 minutes.

Under the new promotion, the delivery fee will be automatically removed at checkout once the £25 minimum spend has been reached.

The move comes as retailers continue to invest heavily in rapid delivery services as shoppers increasingly look for convenience and last-minute top-up shops.

Tesco launched Whoosh nationally in 2021 and has since expanded the service across much of the UK, offering thousands of products through participating stores.

The supermarket said the promotion is aimed at customers needing forgotten essentials, last-minute groceries for hosting, or supplies for a busy week of football.

Francesca Jones, Head of Whoosh at Tesco, said: “We know there are times when customers need groceries and household essentials quickly, whether that’s a last-minute top-up, forgotten essentials for hosting, or snacks for a big week of football.

“By offering free delivery on orders over £25 for a limited time, we’re making it even easier for customers to enjoy the great value they expect from Tesco, with the speed and convenience of Whoosh.”

The free delivery offer will be available from 6am on 11 June until 11:59pm on 17 June.
Customers do not need a promo code, with the discount being applied automatically when eligible orders are placed.
