This is the heartwarming moment a quick-thinking police officer sprang into action to save a helpless sheep stranded on its back in a field.
Officers were out on routine patrol when they spotted the animal lying in distress, unable to get itself back onto its feet.
With the sheep stuck and vulnerable, one officer didn’t think twice.

Braving icy water, the “heroic” colleague waded into the field to reach the stricken animal and gently help it upright.
The sheep, left struggling and unable to move, was safely turned over and soon back on its feet following the rescue, as reported by Whats The Jam.
Incidents like this might seem small but they can be life-saving, as sheep stuck on their backs can quickly become distressed and at risk if not helped.
The touching moment has since been shared as a shining example of officers going above and beyond – not just for the public, but for animals in need too.
The video, shared by Bereden Politie – the Mounted Police in the Netherlands – has racked up more than 845,000 views, alongside 40,600 likes and 2,200 comments praising the rescue.
