An expert dad is building stunning miniature £5,000 cars and letting his lucky six-year-old son take them for a spin as the official test driver.

Tommy Furness specialises in creating half-scale versions of classic Ford Escorts.

The detailed Mk1 and Mk2 models look just like the real thing and are fully driveable.

And when it comes time to test them out, his son Freddie, six, is usually first in line to get behind the wheel.

One video showing Freddie confidently driving a white model has racked up an incredible 1.5 million views and more than 17,000 likes online.

Tommy runs TotRods from his workshop in Llanidloes, Powys, where he hand-builds the miniature car body shells to order.

He offers body shells for enthusiasts who want to build their own half-scale motors, along with a range of specialist parts he crafts in-house.

A body shell alone can cost more than £800, while a fully built car starts at around £5,000.
