A darts rising star has given merchandise staff holiday after he reached the semi final following a shock win.
Gian van Veen has become the talk of the 2026 PDC World Championships.
The 23-year-old is now the second favourite for the title after dumping former world champion Luke Humphries out of the tournament.

Following a 5-1 thumping in the quarter final, ‘The Giant’ is now looking to book his place in the final – with a semi final against Gary Anderson awaiting him.
Fortunately for the Dutch darts players’ merchandise staff, they will be able to enjoy the darts without any distractions from work.
The GVV Official Store has informed customers that orders from 1 Jan will not be sent until the 15 Jan due to staff holiday.

Fans looking to snap up replica shirts and darts from van Veen’s shop will have to wait to receive them.
The store sells a wide range of items from £69 signed tops to £20 wooden serving boards.

The rising stars semi final match up takes place today (2 Jan), as reported by Whats The Jam.
It is the 23-year-old’s first ever appearance in the penultimate round of the tournament.

The Dutch player came back to haunt Luke Humphries, with ‘The Giant’ winning his first title against him in 2025.

The pair met in the European Championship final on 26 Oct, where the 23-year-old won 11-10.
A spokesperson for the GVV Official Store said: “Orders will not be sent from the 01-01 until 15-01 due to holiday.
“All orders will be shipped around Gian and his matches.
“The store to get your merchandise from the 2025 European Champion.
