A stargazer’s dream car has been launched with a tablet controlled telescope on the roof.
The unique Jeep was built to help Brits understand and explore the night sky.
The smart telescope can be found on the sunroof – which can be operated from the comfort of the driver’s seat.

The modified Jeep is kitted out with stargazing essentials such as, binoculars, red light head-torches, touch-screen gloves and warm clothing.
The one off concept ride – called Avenger Stargazer – was built after research revealed almost a third (32%) of the nation suffer from ‘cosmos confusion’.
It is estimated to cost over £35,000.
The study, conducted by Jeep, exposed that a whopping 33% would struggle to identify the iconic Orion’s Belt.
However, a huge 73% admitted they’d be interested in learning more, as reported by Whats The Jam.

This inspired the American car manufacturer to team up with DarkSky UK, a non-profit organisation, to create this stargazing motor.
The collaboration’s aim is to encourage people to reduce light pollution, get outside and enjoy the stars.
The announcement of the Jeep coincides with the Geminid meteor shower, one of the last major ones of the year.

The exterior of the motor resembles the night sky – the left side is designed to depict Pleiades, the Milky Way and Saturn.
On the right is Andromeda galaxy, Jupiter and Ursa Major – whilst the bonnet features the Earth and the Moon.

“Through this collaboration, we hope to encourage people to get outside and to look up at the night sky, as well as take measures to reduce their light pollution.”
