A shopper was left stunned by Tesco’s back to school display filled with beer.
Amanda Wilkie spotted the shelves stacked high with crates of beer underneath a sign.
But instead of plugging the beer it read “Back to school ready”.

Boxes of Fosters, Strongbow, Guinness, Madri, Corona, Thatcher’s Gold Modelo were placed underneath the sign in Tesco Extra, Gillingham, Kent.
The 49-year-old has two grown up children and says she remembers the stress of keeping them entertained during the holidays.
“I wasn’t sure if the display was for the kids or the parents,” Amanda, of Gillingham, Kent, told What’s the Jam.
“I did a slight double take at first.
“Then once I realised, yes, it was a back to school banner displayed over cases of beer and cider, it highly amused me.

“I thought it would amuse parents.
“My children are grown up and way past school age.
“But I can still vividly remember both the nightmare of back to school shopping and how I felt at the end of having had the kids at home for six weeks.

“I can definitely relate to why parents would possibly need a drink by the end of the holidays or even want a drink to celebrate the holiday finally being at an end.
“It’s hard work entertaining kids for six weeks.”
Schoolkids across the UK went back to classes this week after the six-week summer holiday.
Tesco has been approached for comment.
